Etimologia

Il nome del genere deriva dal mwhggreco παρά (mwhwpara), «vicino, presso», e oχετός (mwiaochetos), «letto di fiume, canale», in riferimento all'mwiqhabitat di queste piante, localizzato sulle sponde di fiumi e ruscellicite-ref-4[4].

Distribuzione e habitat

È un genere paleomwkatropicale ristretto alle aree montane delle regioni tropicali di mwkqAfrica (mwkgP.mwla africanus) e mwlqAsia (mwlgP.mwma communis)cite-ref-lowo-5-0[5].
